Here are some quicks tips that we follow for better design, conversion and overall experience

Tip #1: Keep it simple! Everybody knows this. Unfortunately, your idea of simple may not be your customer’s idea. Don’t overload the experience with text and lists of product features. Take a deep breathe and get ahold of yourself. Calm down on wanting to pack too much information. It’s called information creep and it’s a small screen. It's easy to get carried away.

Give the experts at Zone Four a chance to give you some ideas as well your customers for input and insight. Text should be short and snappy—to the point. With plenty of action and buy now buttons as needed.

For simplicity and admin ease of use, your mobile content will often mirror your main site content. So when you are getting product feature diarrhea on the main site, make sure you are keeping mobile in mind. Chant aloud…Clean, clear, concise. Neat and streamlined. Prioritize content. Repeat.

Tip #2: Please the Finger! Minimize Pinch and Zoom Navigation. This may be unavoidable. Go figure?! Excessive scrolling may turn them off, rather than on. Minimize as much as possible, or risk the potential of losing customers if you have long forms that require customers to perform a finger ballet to get what they need. By creating easy to navigate finger experiences, improves the experience. Which leads to better conversion rates on mobile.

Tip #3: Make Action Items Easy to Use. The size of the text, buttons, spaced appropriately will add to the overall experience. Remember, we live in a distracted world. Can you navigate your mobile site while watching TV or attending a sporting event? It better be super easy, quickly informative in bit sized pieces or risk losing the connection. Test it this way once. The mobile site’s true colors will be on display in this mode.

Tip #4: Know Your Buyer’s Journey. Map it out. Research, interview and refine as the data provide insight. Remove perceived bottlenecks and unlock your ability to score additional sales from customers and potential customers.

Tip #5: Make Sure it Works. There are over 500 different screen sizes between iPhone, windows, Android, blackberry and more. Landscape? Portrait? How does your site look in all these devices and screen sizes?
